Me As a Teacher
Intro
I want to be a teacher because some of the most important people in my life are teachers. Most of my role models are the teachers I have had throughout my lifetime. I think teachers are some of the most important people in the world, because of the fact that they are the ones who are shaping the future. The students they teach are going to be our future healthcare professionals, lawyers, police, and so much more. The things they will learn in my classroom will be things that they will never forget and will likely influence many aspects of their lives. One of the main reasons I went into Inclusive Education is because I see how important and beneficial it can be to everyone involved. Including children with special needs in a general ed classroom can allow the general ed students to be exposed to children different from them and allowing diversity in the classroom. Purpose
I see the purpose of education as being a way to teach the learners how to think critically for themselves and eventually be members of our society. I believe education should be given to students in a way so that they can take it how they wish and be able to apply it in their everyday lives. The skills and habits taught in the classroom can be applied to real-life situations. For example, having students get to school on time, turn their work in by a certain deadline, and just act appropriately in different situations. All of these skills can be applied one day in the bigger scheme of things. Teachers are what keeps the world turning, and this video explains why the world needs teachers (Jubilee, 2015).

Leader
In the future, I see myself as being a leader in the classroom by helping the students learn how to use critical thinking skills not just in the curriculum I will teach them, but also in everyday life. I will be a role model to them by being positive and someone they can be themselves around. I will make it a point to let them know it is okay to make mistakes, as long as they learn from them. I see myself now as a leader at my school by how I am involved in different clubs and organizations. To name a few I am a part of the University Participant Program, I am a member of the WHEE Teach club, and I try to get involved in any way I can. In the community, I try to volunteer my time for good causes such as helping at local elementary schools for Reading Buddy Programs and for the Fall Festivals.

Goals
There are many things that I hope my future students will learn for me. Academically I hope that my students learn how to use critical thinking that they can apply in their daily life. I hope that they see the true value of a good education and how it can shape them in more ways than one. Socially, I want them to learn how to be confident and become successful members of our society, no matter where they come from or what their background is. I think that everyone can achieve their goals and dreams if they are willing to put the work in. Lastly, emotionally I want my students to know that they can always come to me for anything. I want to be approachable to them and be a safe place that students can go when they need to vent, cry, or whatever they need. Another goal I have is to be a teacher that my students will remember for years after I teach them.
